Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, renting a guitar can make a lot of sense. First lets talk about beginners. They usually dont know what they want, and if they start out buying a guitar they often end up wishing they got something else. Also unfortunately as much as we try to encourage everyone to stick with it, some people simply quit for a number of reasons and are stuck with an instrument they now must sell used at a loss or keep it. Renting a guitar allows you to get to know more about playing, it ensures you have more knowledge when it may be time to buy. Even if you just rent a $9.99 guitar for a few months, you will know after getting over that initial learning hump if you want to continue. Also you can try different guitars out by renting a different one each month.
A lot of seasoned pros are now renting from us because of the savings, and the simple fact that they can over time had played on a lot of guitars they never would have ever had the opportunity to if they had to buy each one. This month can be a Fender Strat, next time a Telecaster, and then a les paul, and SG, a Gretsch hollow body, and then a 12 string acoustic, and so on... Every month you can get a different guitar. If you bought a guitars and made payments on it, then later traded it in taking the depreciated value of it being used and traded in to buy another guitar of just equal value, then you would spend around the same as if you had rented one for about 3 years... Thats over 30 guitars you could have spent a month with. For this reason more and more people are renting because of our incredibly low cost to do so.
